As many of you will know, but some won’t, we no longer have a President at the footy club and last Thursday, with the required 7 days notice, those present were advised in writing that we will be holding a Special General Meeting tomorrow night to elect a new President.

All members who were financial as at the date of the original election of Office Bearers, being 20 September, 2014 as well as current Committee Members and Life Members are invited to attend the clubrooms tomorrow night to nominate and elect a new President for the 2015 season. The meeting will commence once training is completed and the food is all gone!!!

Tomorrow, I will be approaching Rick Simmons, the Licencee of the Postman’s Tavern, with whom we met last week and who is currently going through our proposal for major (jumper) sponsorship, to invite him to attend training tomorrow night and to have a beer and meet the Committee, members and players before he makes his final decision on Friday as to whether he wants to commit to major sponsorship, so it would be great if as many as possible can be there to show him how committed and focused we are on making 2015 an outstanding year for the Club.

It is also an opportunity for those of you who accepted nominations and places on the Committee last September, to re-evaluate that commitment, and decide whether you are willing to put in the effort required to make a valuable contribution to the Demons this year. All members and players will always be welcomed and valued at the Demons in whatever capacity, but if you don’t have the time and/or inclination to fulfil the obligation you made, it is in the best interests of the Club if you step back and we fill the positions with people who are willing and able to fully commit.

Please make every effort to be at training tomorrow night – the clubrooms will be open from 4.30pm … the beers will be cold and the food will be hot.
